  5. Can a Learner's Permit be renewed?

    6. Yes, there is usually a small fee for this.

  6. Who must be in front seat beside a driver with a Learner's Permit?

    7. Licensed driver at least 21 years old with at least 1-year experience from 6am to midnight, after midnight, must be parent or guardian.

  7. What is the minimum age for a Driver's License?

    8. 15 for daytime restricted license, having held the Learner's Permit for at least 180 days and LADS Driver Education Certification w/40 hours parent supervised driving, 10 of which must be after dark.

  8. What type of Driver's License does our graduate under 18 get?

    9. Provisional Conditional for age 15 (+180 days w/LP), regular license at 1 yr from issue date if driver remains accident and violation free

  9. How do we set up a Road Test for Lesson by Lesson students?

    10. Instructor must authorize, fee is $150 for 3 hrs of test prep and testing at DMV in one of our vehicles. May increase in price if longer than 3 hrs.

  10. How do we set up RT for teen course students?

    11. Same as Lesson by Lesson ($150) for 3 hours test prep and DMV test. Parent must either accompany student and instructor to the DMV or go to the DMV to fill out proper paperwork prior to Road Test.

  11. Is an appointment with the DMV required to take the RT?

    12. No

  12. Do beginners need a Learner's Permit to practice in car driving?

    13. Yes, but not with our state certified instructors.

LADS Courses

  1. How does the program work?

    2. Students attend a one day, 8 Hour classroom session usually held on a Saturday. After completing the classroom portion, they are given the login information for our online scheduling system to set up their in-car portion of the training. Their in-car portion will be broken down into the appropriate number of 2-hour segments based on the course chosen. Upon completion of both the classroom and in-car portions, the student will receive the necessary paperwork for the student to be allowed to take the State Road Test. Certificates for the insurance discount will be mailed within a couple of days to the address on record.

  2. Is a contract required?

    3. Yes for all courses except Lesson by Lesson.

  3. What is the price of additional teen lessons after chosen course?

    4. $50 / hour, 2 Hour Minimum

  4. Do we pick up the teen students for their in car lessons?

    5. Yes, within our training area, except meeting points in Myrtle Beach area & Georgetown

  5. Do we offer pick up for lesson by lesson?

    6. Yes, within our training area

  6. What do we teach?

    7. We follow a Student Instruction Outline, which helps the teacher to tailor the training to the individual student. It covers everything from basic car control to advanced defensive driving skills and road test maneuvers

  7. Do we offer LP Tutoring?

    8. Yes, 2 hours for $100 at our office with instructor

LADS Policies

  1. Is there a discount for 2 or more teens from the same family?

    2. Yes, the $10 Bring-a-Friend is discounted off the 2nd or 3rd student's tuition; the deposit fee is still the same.

  2. Do we train on a stick shift?

    3. No, we don't have a standard transmission vehicle. We find it better for the student learn on an automatic transmission.

  3. Can we train in the student's vehicle?

    4. No, we teach only in our dual controlled vehicles.

  4. Do we have a female instructor?

    5. Yes, in some areas.

  5. Can we teach someone who doesn't speak English?

    6. Yes, we have done that with or without an interpreter going along.

  6. Can we teach the hearing impaired?

    7. Yes, we can teach using lip reading and hand gestures. We don't have anyone who signs for the deaf.

  7. Do we do motorcycle training?

    8. No

  8. Do we train for the CDL?

    9. No

  9. Do we offer a senior citizen discount?

    10. No, but because of our over 50 years of experience and the advanced level of training our instructors receive, we will be able to give seniors the training they need to learn successfully.

  10. How much is the teen course registration fee?

  11. Is the teen course deposit refundable?

    12. No, but transferable to another class

  12. What is the cancellation policy?

    13. Student must cancel before close of business on the previous business day to avoid the $50 late cancellation fee. In extreme cases a manager may waive fee
